The important thing is that you do it.

Tile & Grout Cleaning

One area of your home that can be a pain to clean is your tile flooring. You have to make sure you get the tiles themselves clean as well as the grout. Grout is the part of your flooring that is in between the pieces of tile. The group helps fill in the gaps between the tiles. Without grout your tile flooring will not look complete. Both tile and grout come in a large variety of color options. When you think about cleaning your tile and grout what comes to mind? Do you clean it the same way that you have for years or do you switch up every once in a while? Do you enjoy trying new products or are you a tried and true product user? You may be looking for some ways that you can improve your grout cleaning process to help your grout get cleaner than it is now. Silver State Floor Restoration has some grout cleaning methods for you to try.

Sweep & Mop Tile Floors & Grout

You will want to make sure that you routinely clean your tile and grout. Sweeping and mopping your floor is the best way to do this. It is extremely helpful to immediately clean spills as well. The less time that spills have to sit on your grout the cleaner your grout will stay. Even if you are frequently cleaning your tile and grout you will still find that your grout needs extra attention sometimes.

Vinegar & Water Grout Cleaner

There are a few different things you can do to clean your grout. Before you try these tips you will want to sweep and mop your floor. The first tip that you can try is a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water. Put the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray your grout generously with the mixture. Allow the mixture to sit on your grout for about 5 minutes. Then get a toothbrush or small scrub brush and scrub the grout. Make sure that you do not use a metal brush as it can scratch your tile. Take time to clean the toothbrush out regularly as you clean.

Cleaning Grout with Baking Soda Mixture

Our second method requires baking soda and water. Mix two parts baking soda to one-part water to make a paste. Apply the mixture to the grout. Allow it to sit on the grout overnight if possible. If you do this you will want to make sure that young children or pets are safe. In the morning you will take a toothbrush or nylon brush and scrub the grout. After you are done clean your tile and grout with warm water to remove any residue from the mixture.
