Today we are going to highlight the best process for cleaning your tile floors.

Broom or Vacuum Tile Floors Often

There are a few different components to keeping your tile floors clean. First you will want to sweep or vacuum your floor regularly. Sometimes people only sweep or vacuum their tile floors when they have the time to mop it as well. You will not want to fall into this habit. Sweeping or vacuuming your tile floor needs to be done more frequently than mopping does. You should aim to sweep or vacuum your floor at least a few times a week. We are frequently asked if it is best to sweep or vacuum your tile floors. What you use does not really matter as much as how you use them. Some people make the mistake of not doing sweeping or vacuuming thoroughly no matter what they choose to use for the job. Take the time to get underneath your cabinets, rugs, tables, chairs, and other furniture. Dust and debris tend to pile up in these areas. The dirt and debris will dull and scratch the surface of your tile if it is left there. Both a broom and a vacuum will do the job well if you take your time.

Use Mop to Clean Tile Floors

Once you have gotten all the dirt and debris off of your tile flooring you will want to get your mop out. There are many different ways that you can go about mopping your tile floors. You will need some hot water to help with this process. Some people choose to put mild detergent or lemon juice to their water while others choose to clean with just the water. Do whatever works best for you! The most important part of mopping is that you thoroughly clean everything off of your floor. You will want to clean your mop throughout the mopping process. If your mop is filled with dirty water all you are doing is moving around dirt from one area to another. This will leave you with a hazy film on your tile floor instead of a nice, clean, and shiny floor.
