How Do You Clean Pet Urine Off Tile & Grout While Potty Training in Paradise, NV?

When it comes to potty training it never is a fun job whether it is for kids or pets. Luckily with kids, there are ways to help you potty train them without them always having accidents all over your floor. But with pets especially a new puppy, it can be a little harder not to have accidents constantly on your tile floor. Puppies can be so cute, but when you have that first accident on the tile floor you start questioning, how am I supposed to potty train a brand new puppy? Silver State Floor Restoration will go over some tips on how you can at least keep your floor clean during these potty-training phases of a puppy or a new pet.

Help Puppy to Go Outside

The most important thing is to help your puppy learn how to go outside. Take them outside frequently, if you need to set a timer do so. The more often your puppy goes outside the more it will learn that is where it is supposed to go. If your puppy starts to have an accident on your floor, make a loud noise, then grab your puppy and take him outside. It can be really easy to get distracted and not remember to take your puppy outside. A puppy can be a lot of work but continuing to take it outside will help them learn where they are supposed to go. Don’t reward your puppy after it has gone to the bathroom in your home. Only reward it when it has gone outside like it is supposed to.

Clean Up Messes Immediately

When an accident happens what are you supposed to do? The first thing is to not just leave it on your floor whether it is the carpet or your tile make sure you clean it up immediately. You don’t need any harsh chemicals to clean it. You can use baking soda, white vinegar, and paper towels. Make sure you soak up urine with paper towels. Then pour half a cup of white vinegar on the spot and let it sit for about 10 minutes. After you have done that, then sprinkle 2 to 3 tablespoons of baking soda over the vinegar. You will notice that the baking soda will make the vinegar start to foam. After a few minutes wipe it up with paper towels. After, with some warm water on your paper towel you can wipe away the rest of the vinegar and baking soda. This will help get rid of the smell and the urine.

Do Not Miss a Pet Accident Again

Let’s face it having a puppy and keeping track of it at all times can be hard. A great trick to do is when you are home put the leash on your dog and attach it to you. This way your dog is by you at all times. You are then there when it starts to have an accident. Many accidents happen when the owner is not paying attention to the dog and it has to go to the bathroom. Having a leash attached to you with the dog you will be able to catch the dog when it starts to have an accident and you can hurry and take it outside.
