As a fairly durable stone, it offers resistance to fire and corrosion. Marble, however, does have a few weaknesses, such as when acidic compounds leads to etching and grit creates scratching. The marble tile may need a good wash once every week or two. To mop your marble tile, only use a cleaner specifically designed to clean it and always follow the directions on the label. Never use any DIY cleaning solutions that involve any amount of vinegar as is it is an acid-based cleaner. Additionally, never use mild soap-based cleaners, as they too can cause to damage. If you are ever in doubt, just use warm water to remove the residues and spots.
