How to Deep Clean Your Ceramic & Porcelain Tile Floors in Aliante, NV & Remove White Residue

Every homeowner would love to come into their home and always see sparkling floors, counters, windows, and mirrors. Unfortunately reality does not make this a possibility. Even the cleanest of people will have their house marred by the ins and outs of daily life. Cleaning the different parts of your house effectively is often overwhelming. Silver State Floor Restoration has some tips for how to clean your tile floors effectively.

Sweep or Vacuum Tile Floors Everyday

Tile is built to resist dirt but it can become dull if this debris is ground into the grout and dull glazed surfaces. Sweeping or vacuuming your floor at least every other day will prevent the dirt and debris from staying in your grout or ruining the glaze on your tile. If you choose to use a broom, select a soft fluffy one as opposed to a hard straw one. If you choose to use a vacuum make sure that you set it on the bare floor setting for maximum effectiveness.

Best Mop for Ceramic Tile Floors

At least once a week you will want to mop your floor. There are tons of different products that are on the market to mop your floor. Steam mops, Swiffers, regular mops, and more are all available down the cleaning aisle. We do not recommend using a sponge mop on tile. The sponge will drive the dirt, debris, and dirty water down into your grout. We recommend a rag or a chamois-type mop. They are the best choices for getting your tile floors nice and sparkly. When you are mopping you will want to make sure that you change the water frequently. If the water you are using is really dirty you will not get a clean floor. Adding a mild detergent to your clean water is the most effective option to clean your tile floors.

Ceramic & Porcelain Tile Stain Removal

As you clean your tile flooring you will want to be on the lookout for stains. Many times you are able to get these stains out with some extra scrubbing. Some stains will require the assistance of a stronger cleaner. What kind of cleaner you use will depend on the stain. There are many different products that you can try.

White Residue on Tile Floor

If after you are done cleaning you notice a soap residue on your floor you will want to make sure that you clean it off. Lots of times getting clean water with no detergent and running the mop on the floor one more time will sufficiently take care of the residue. If it does not you can use a nonabrasive all-purpose cleaner to help get the residue off of your nice clean floor.

How to Dry Floor Tiles

One thing that we find helpful is to dry the tiles with a lint-free cloth instead of letting them air dry. If you let your tile floors air dry the sitting water will form water spots. No one wants to spend their precious time cleaning the floor just to have water spots on it when they are done.
