What you need:
– Mild Dish Soap
– 3 Microfiber Cloths
– Soft Sponge
– Baking Soda
– Hydrogen peroxide
– Plastic Wrap
– Mixing Bucket
– Or Approved Granite Cleaner

How to Clean Granite Countertops

1) Prepare the sponge. Damp a soft sponge, do not an abrasive scrubbing pad or it could scratch the granite’s surface. Squirt a dab of mild liquid dish soap into the center of the sponge and dilute under the faucet briefly. If you prefer, a microfiber cloth works as well.
2) Wring out the sponge. Work the sponge or cloth up until have lather and wring out the excess water. Granite is highly absorbent natural stone and can easily become discolored if too much standing water collects beneath the surface.
3) Wash the granite tile surface. Gently use small circular patterns to wash the entire surface. For any dried-on splatters, use a little extra muscle, but avoid non-abrasives to work out the crusts.
4) Fully dry the granite tile surface. Use a dry microfiber cloth to fully dry the granite tile. It will ensure it is safe from unsightly water damage but eliminate the streaks to increase the eye-popping shine.
5) Stain Removal. Though granite can usually resist stains, they can still occur and when they do most people panic. But generally, they stains can come out easily with a few ingredients most people already have in their pantries. Start with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide for water based stains. Oil-based stains are removed with baking soda and water. Both scenarios should be mixed until a paste is created. Use a spoon to spread the paste over the stain, place plastic wrap over the top and tape the edges down. Leave the concoction on a few days and wipe it clean with a damp microfiber cloth and dry.
6) Professional Maintenance. What actually helps the granite resist the stains is the sealant. Over time however, the sealant will dissipate, making the granite more susceptible to staining. Granite tile should be professionally deep cleaned and sealed 1-2 times a year as well as whenever you notice the little stains increasing.

Important Note: It is essential you do not use the following cleaners and implements on your granite tile or you will cause permanent damage:
– Acidic Cleaners including vinegar, lemon, lime, and citrus.
– Acidic Juices (use coasters on countertops).
– Ammonia or Ammonia-based Cleaners, such as Windex.
– Bleach or Bleach-Based Products
– Steel Wool
– Scrubby Sponges or Pads
